On Nov. 18 Dr. Patrick Haspel presented at Khalifa Semiconductor Research Center (KSRC) in United Arabic Emirates. The “Open House” event, which was organized by Dr. Mohammed Al-Mulla and Prof. Mohammed Ismail, who is Center Director, was intended to present KSRC to the other academia in the region. Beside Cadence's Patrick Haspel, talks were given by Prof. Ibrahim Elfadel from MASDAR Institute for Science and Technology and Farris Alhorr from National Instruments. In the afternoon session KSRC opened its labs for the visitors and presented its achievements in the fields of biomedical and RF engineering. Khalifa University is part of the ACE4S consortium, which consists of the leading UAE universities in microelectronics area, namely Khalifa University , MASDAR Institute , United Arab Emirates University , New York University Abu Dhabi and American University of Sharjah . Cadence Academic Network and KSRC have a long-term partnership, which is one of the strongest in the Gulf region. Beside the tools required for the research, Cadence provides tapeout support and methodology services to KSRC. Anton Klotz
