I am so proud of the Cadence team. We were recognized by FORTUNE as #43 on their list of the Top 50 Best Workplaces for Giving Back . This honor is a significant achievement for Cadence. This is the first year FORTUNE has given this award and our ranking is a direct result of employees’ feedback and engagement in our programs. In the past year, we launched our Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program, which gives employees five paid days off of work to volunteer for the nonprofit or school of their choice. So far, employees have spent 1,939 days volunteering in support of causes that were personally meaningful to them. In addition, we globalized our Matching Gifts Program and donated Cadence technology to hundreds of universities globally, impacting the education of over 100,000 future innovators. Encouraging employees to engage in their local communities has helped Cadence develop an inspired and high-performance culture. Not only can individuals pursue personal passions, but leaders have used fundraising and volunteer activities to build camaraderie and trust within their teams. Employees tell us that the feeling of self-fulfillment they experience supporting causes they care about recharges them for work the next day. I was able to experience this last Fall when our team used VTO to work with Rebuilding Together to help renovate the house of a senior widow of a veteran. I spent the day working alongside our CFO, Geoff Ribar, our General Counsel, Jim Cowie, and others from the Human Resources, Finance, and Legal teams. It was inspiring to see everyone working together to lend a hand to a San Jose neighbor in need. We all felt the pride of helping someone else, and doing it as a team was fun and great for building camaraderie. Giving back has always been a core component of Cadence’s history and company culture. When we first created our Cadence Cares program, we sought to make a positive impact for our community and our employees. Today we are able to celebrate the progress we’ve made. I look forward to seeing what we continue to accomplish around the world as One Cadence—One Team.
