It’s almost time for CDNLive India! For those of you who don’t know, CDNLive is Cadence’s annual user conference that is held in nine cities around the world. In India it is always held in Bangalore, India’s tech hub. CDNLive brings together Cadence technology users, developers, and industry experts. Together they can network, share best practices on critical design and verification issues, and discover new techniques for realizing advanced silicon, SoCs, and systems. CDNLive India was held in Bangalore first time in 2005, the same year it was first held in the US as well. I remember that when I came for my interview to Cadence in December 2005, my hiring manager was in the middle of organizing CDNLive. Alas, I missed being present at the first CDNLive (I didn’t join Cadence till Jan 2006), but I have had the honor of being involved in every one of them since then. Needless to say, CDNLive has come a long way in the last 13 years. Around 300 people attended in 2005. Last year, we had more than 1,700 attendees. Abstract submissions have grown many-fold. From a one-day event with 10 user presented papers and one customer keynote in 2005, for the past several years it has been a two-day event with upwards of 80 user presented papers. We now have a Designer Expo exhibition area where our global sponsors and local partners put up booths. And of course Cadence pods that feature the latest in Cadence technologies. Here are some pictures from yesteryears. Looking for these in my computer's archives brought back a lot of fond memories! CDNLive doesn’t have a “theme” each year - it is always about the chip design ecosystem. But under this umbrella theme, it takes cognizance of new technologies, new products, product families and technology updates that have emerged since the previous CDNLive event. There are nine CDNLives across the world, and the theme and even the look and feel is the same, whether it is held in India, Germany, Israel, Japan, Taiwan, China, Korea or the US. So what’s in it for attendees? First and foremost, attendees will learn something new. This a forum to get to know about the very latest industry trends and innovations, about the best practices on critical design and verification issues, and as it provides the unique opportunity to discover new techniques for designing advanced silicon, SoCs, and systems from other users. So from just the learning perspective, it is time well-spent. Attendees have a chance to widen their horizons. The keynotes at CDNLive provide a global perspective of industry and future trends by experts. This year’s keynotes are Lip-Bu Tan, Cadence president and CEO; Venugupal Puvvada, VP of Engineering at Qualcomm; Jaswinder Ahuja, Cadence India MD; and Dinakar Munagala, Co-Founder and CEO of ThinCi Inc. And last but not least, there is the networking. With hundreds of like-minded industry professionals attending, CDNLive provides a fantastic networking opportunity to exchange ideas and learn best practices from peers. CDNLive is our flagship conference and, like previous years, we expect to deliver a world-class experience to our customers. Registration is open till Sep 4, so if you have not yet registered there is still time! Visit the CDNLive India website for more details . See you there!
