Here at Cadence we are very proud to provide internships to students and graduates, and offer them the opportunity to develop skills within a successful and dynamic workplace. Here are three accounts from previous IT interns who have now progressed into full employment here at Cadence after making a strong impression during their internships: Carl Cunniam—Order Management “I had the opportunity to undertake an IT internship with Cadence after studying a Business and Information Systems course. My IT internship lasted for nine months and it gave me invaluable hands-on experience and a great insight into an industry that is constantly evolving. My daily duties included onsite support for the Dublin office and responsibility for the Euro-pool ticketing system within SalesForce. I received a recognition award for the major role I played in the Dublin site move, due to my dependability and flexibility in taking on numerous roles in setting up the new office. As my internship was coming to a close, I was successful in getting a position in Order Management which had opened up. I have gained invaluable experience and knowledge in both departments, and I still feel I have so much more to learn and to contribute to the team. Learning for me is a continuous path and I am always open to new ideas and new procedures in doing things. I am looking forward to continuing my journey with Cadence.” David Brady—EMEA Service Desk and Site Support “I studied IT Support in FAS in Dublin from 2012-2013. I achieved a Fetac level 6 in IT support along with certification on Comptia A+ and Network+. I joined Cadence in April 2013 through FAS and extended through the Irish Jobsbridge program. I gained great experience in my role as an intern in Dublin under supervision of Brendan Pollard and working with the euro-it team and this helped me cement a contract with Cadence. I now look after Onsite IT support for the Dublin site, and I manage the European ticket pool. In 2015 I was involved in the Dublin Site move and received a CFO group award for my involvement from Geoff Ribar.” Łukasz Rydzewski—Associate Desktop System Specialist “I studied computer science in University Silesia and now I have started a Masters course here too. I started an internship in the IT department at Cadence from November 2014. My main roles included helping employees directly with IT issues, updating and upgrading LSF servers, preparing new computers for employees, and repairing used computers. Since then I have moved to a full-time position as Associate Desktop System Specialist here in Katowice, Poland.”
